Here you will find a collection of my most recent work as the Director of Educational Technology at Greenhill School. There are examples of my work in mentoring and teaching other adults, materials developed specifically for parent presentations and student lessons as well as materials that I have developed through my Master degree program that I have used to help with understanding current learning theories |

This site documents my journey into the online world of mentoring. Group mentoring from a distance with the objective of planting the seeds for the development of a community of learning. Both rooms are set up in Tapped In. I now have three group rooms in Tapped In. My tapped in name is Chriswb. Link to www.tappedin.org |

What does it mean to be "in the zone"? Lev Vygotsky proposed that understanding is developed on the edge of "the zone"-that is the zone of proximal development. The Art of Gardening in the Zone is a metaphorical picture of Vygotsky's Zone of
Proximal Development. I created this piece when I was working on my Masters and used it later in Bits and Bytes, an online newsletter that I publish at work every two months. |

This is a workshop I developed for parents. The goal is for parents to spend a full day in the digital world of their kids. The purpose is to inform parents of the wealth of information on the internet as well as the precautions that must be taken. (content is currently being moved to new location) |

This is a one hour workshop for teachers. The goal was to introduce them to the world of the blog, set up a personal blog and make the first entries. I plant the seed for reflection on future use of the blog in their classroom. |

Searching the Internet
|
|
This one hour workshop is designed to get teachers to effectively search the Internet using advanced search techniques. There is often a complaint that students take the first thing they find on Google. What I have found is that teachers don't often go much deeper. This workshop is to help them dig deeper into the Internet and encourage them to model these search techniques with their students. |
