In The Spotlight This month I spotlight multiple uses of technology in educational settings across the campus. We have really had an explosion in the use of technology in educational settings.

In Theory

This is a short piece that I wrote and shared as a preamble to a panel session with Todd Oppenheimer, Author of The Flickering Mind, at last years ISAS Teachers Conference in New Mexico. Mr. Oppenheimer is an outspoken opponent of technology in education. I was one of three that presented the "other side" And yes, I was also very out spoken.

From The Book Shelf

Review of Ellen Langer's book, The Power of Mindful Learning. This was a wonderful read and worth a quick look.

From the Workbench

Have you seen the change? Your eyes are not fooling you, Internet Explorer does look different. This short piece will shed some light on the change and introduce you to some new features as well as help you find the old familiar ones.

Sharpen The Saw Suggested conferences, workshops and resources. Here is a place where you can renew yourself and develop new skills for teaching with technology

Best Of The Web

In this issue I feature a collection of sites that were published in i.e.: Interactive Educator. These sites all have possibilities with the Smartboards on campus. Don't have a Smartboard? Don't worry, they are also excellent resources for classes without Smartboards. Subjects covered this month are: History, Art and Science.

Just For Fun Have fun designing and testing a roller coaster. You may think it is a game but it is not. We are just having fun with math and physics.
